The Gift of FUDGE!

Looking for a truly unique gift this year? How about the gift of fudge. Oh, Fudge is a website devoted only to fudge in all kinds of fudgy flavors.

Like peanut butter fudge? It's there! How about cheese fudge? They can make it. As a matter of fact, what makes this fudge site so remarkable is that they will make whatever type of fudge you crave – within reason – alcohol across state borders would probably require a license, so they take precautions.

Strawberry, raspberry, walnuts, pecans, CARAMEL (my favorite) – add whatever sweet or salty ingredient bathes your palate in ecstasy, and you can enjoy uniquely created fudges.

Not sure what type of fudge you'd like to try? Check out their fudge sampler pack, and if you already know which kinds of fudge (from their selection) that you'd like to try, customize your order at no extra charge.

Boxes are $17.00 (as of 12.12.12), so if your budget calls for a $20 gift, and you want that gift to be something memorable and delicious, visit the Oh, Fudge website and friend Oh, Fudge on FaceBook, where they are known as fudgeygoodness!

Why Switch to Solar Power?

Energy in all forms seems to be the ever-sustaining focus in our lives lately. We all crave more energy. We consume energy drinks, we use energy to light our homes, we exercise to increase our energy, and we pay exorbitant prices to use energy. How high is your electric bill?

You don't have to spend half a week's pay to use electricity. You can use green energy to power your home or office at very little cost. Green energy is renewable energy, energy that will be around for our children and for our children's children, and solar energy is one form of sustainable energy worth investigating.

Though the sun hides behind clouds at times, the sun is always present and always radiating waves, waves that could provide all your electric needs if only you could harness its energy. And you can! If you installed a solar electricity system, you could cut your energy budget like this:

(graphic provided by Baker Electric Solar, located in San Diego)

Solar energy is a clean and efficient energy solution, and the government offers taxpayers incentive packages for using it.

If only solar companies would investigate the use of solar panels on automobiles to decrease our driving expenses and help eliminate gas fumes while also decreasing our reliance on foreign oil. Just a thought.

Nerdy Parents – Satisfy Your Nerdy Needs!

FINALLY – a community has been created just for YOU! If you are a Nerd who is just beginning a family, Nerdy With Children will satisfy all your nerdy needs!

Nerdy With Children launched on August 7, 2012. Nick Veneris and David Gorcey, through their company – Endemic – decided to "remove stereotypical labels like hipster, goth and computer geek and build a community that celebrates 'non-mainstream' diversity (all quotes attributed to Nick)." Nerdy With Children offers parents under 45 who are pregnant or who have children under the age of 13 non-traditional products that appeal specifically to the nerdy parent.

According to Nick, "There's been an explosion in recent years of 'non-traditional' products for kids under 12. From Etsy to the kids sections on Think Geek and Sourpussclothing.com. Unfortunately, no one is really aggregating or curating those products. We thought this would be the perfect foundation to building a 'nerdy' community."

Nerdy parents obsessed with one or more of the following, "art, science, math, computer programming, board/video games, goth, rock n roll, punk,sci-fi, fantasy and things of that nature," will find Nerdy With Children an exciting place to browse nerdy products and to communicate with other like-minded nerds through the Nerdy With Children Forum.

Nerdy With Children isn't for parents only though. Grandparents who are looking for that perfect gift for their grandchildren, "will find the product descriptions quite useful as a gift buying guide." So Grandma and Grandpa, if you have grandchildren interested in gaming, sci-fi, fantasy, artsy-type or music-related items, or even techie stuff, click any of the links in this blog.

After you join the forum, follow Nerdy With Children on Twitter and friend Nerdy With Children on Facebook.

Final words from Nick: "No matter where you live or what piece of nerdy sub-culture you are into there's a whole community waiting for you at nerdywithchildren.com."

Menopausal Mother Speaks!

Marcia Kester Doyle started her Menopausal Mother blog the last Saturday of August, 2011, thirty years after she received her Creative Writing degree. Why the vast span of years? Marcia was raising children!

Marcia states that she was a nervous wreck putting her work out for the world to read, so much so, in fact, that she had to calm her nerves with a glass of Pinot Grigio. She had published a lot of poetry but never had any luck publishing prose. The thought of writing nonfiction never entered her mind – until her kids grew up. With all that pent-up creative energy, blogging seemed to be a welcome outlet, especially since that particular venue offered instant feedback! And, WOW! Wait until you see how many followers she has!

The majority of people who read Marcia's blog are middle-aged women who are probably going through menopause themselves, but as Marcia relates, "I do have a surprising number of male readers/followers who leave terrific comments on my site. I think the blog attracts men because I do use some 'bathroom' humor and I'm not afraid to talk about personal habits, or body 'malfunctions'. Guys always seem to get a kick out of that kind of humor! The middle-aged women are there because everything I write is so relatable to them. I also have several young girls who read and follow my blog-–they actually share the posts with their mothers and they understand my brand of humor."

Marcia's original intentions when she started blogging was to educate women on menopausal symptoms and to provide statistics, but after finding numerous blogs all over the Internet already discussing that topic, she decided to take a different approach – humor.

As Marcia states, "Menopause is a difficult transition time for most women--half the time we feel like we are alone in this and losing our mind. My blog, although it makes light of the situation, also validates those feelings. We are NOT alone and we are NOT losing our minds--these are all NORMAL symptoms of menopause. Although medications can help, there are some aspects of menopause that can not be controlled, so it is a matter of acceptance and learning to deal with it by focusing on the humorous side of it. There IS a light at the end of the tunnel----it won't last forever (and thank God, no more periods!!).

In that sense, I think my blog is very beneficial to my female audience--it teaches them to look at the lighter side of this phase in life. If nothing else, I (hopefully) start off their day with a chuckle when they read one of my blog posts.  As far as benefits to my male readers, several have claimed that my blog gave them new insights as to what their wives were going through and thanked me for helping them.  I will admit though, my favorite responses (comments on the blog) are the ones where people tell me they spit out their drink because they were laughing so hard when they read a post. THAT is the real reason I am writing this blog!"

Although the topic of the blog is menopause, her blog is relatable to all kinds of women – and men. It's funny, warm, engaging, and light. She keeps her language clean, she doesn't discuss religion or politics, and she offers her readers sprinkles of pixie dust as her heart follows you down the path of her blog. (You'll have to read Menopausal Mother to see what I'm talking about.)

Word of caution: Liquids have a way of spurting forth from the mouths of Menopausal Mother's readers, splattering over keyboards everywhere. Don't drink and read at the same time!

(DELETED) – Our Neighbor in Manufacturing

(SPACE HOLDER BLOG)

Manufacturing is a costly enterprise, but for some manufacturers, who produce the exact items other manufacturers produce, the cost is prohibitive, while for others, those same products, manufactured in other parts of the world, are reasonably priced. What explains the difference?

Wouldn't it be advantageous for the global economy if businesses engaged in fair trade? Recognizing that though we are divided into countries, we are all of one world would enable countries around the globe to cooperate in sharing resources, while engaging in favorable business practices that produce quality, inexpensive items everyone can afford. If the cost of production is minimal, manufacturers can pass along their savings to consumers.

The (deleted) is an offshore manufacturing management company located in Mexico that helps companies around the world set up their manufacturing plants in Mexico. With its 20 years of experience with international manufacturers and quality employees, the (deleted) allows companies manufacturing in Mexico to take advantage of cost benefits in many ways. Centrally located shelter services in Zacatecas allow the (deleted) to successfully serve all their customers throughout North America.

Their services include, HR, Payroll, Import/Export, Government & Community Affairs, IT Support, and more. If you would like to take advantage of Entrada Group's expertise, click Manufacturers In Mexico.

Solar Power Company Helps Residents Save Money

As all of our bills skyrocket, we look for ways to reduce our monthly expenditures. Short of living in a tent in the woods surrounded by berries, fruit, and vegetables, though, a lot of us, especially those in the north and midwest, rely on electricity.

Baker Electric Solar company installs solar electricity systems to help customers reduce their energy expenses. Unlike solar panels of old that jutted out of houses and made them look like something out of a science fiction film, these panels are engineered to improve the efficiency of your home without ruining the aesthetics of your home.

Licensed contractors install solar panels in a way that exceeds industry standards, and the panels perform well beyond their warranty period. Each design is customized for your specific home., taking into consideration the slant of your roof, roof space, and areas of shading.

Maintaining the panels is simple – periodic hosing of the panels cleans them. If you are interested in reducing your energy costs and you are looking for clean energy solutions, consider installing solar panels.

The Clone Blog II

Health issues necessitate me writing another one of my clone blogs. Those issues are numerous. Final diagnoses: Pneumonitis; multiple right lung nodules, likely benign, but with no comparison cannot exclude neoplasm; left kidney upper pole low-attenuation exophytic lesion, likely a hyperdense cyst. Must follow up with CT scan in 3 months to compare.

So here I am, at home. Completely exhausted. Everything I do tires me. But I still suffer from insomnia (some things never change), so the night before last while I was awake for several hours, I had a bowl of cereal and watched a movie. The following morning I awoke at 8 a.m. (very late for me), made myself a breakfast smoothie, then became so overwhelmingly tired, I had to rest on the couch where I fell into a coma for several minutes.

I have to admit, I'm a little overwhelmed by what has been happening lately. I think I handled the breast cancer problem quite well. I've always said that nothing scares me more than not breathing. But while still dealing with the lung problem and continuing to take all my asthma and cancer meds, I've had to assimilate what occurred at my oncologist's office the day before yesterday.

During a routine mammogram, something "suspicious" showed up on the breast where I didn't have breast cancer. Whoa! Really? I decided right there that if I have breast cancer again, I'm NOT going through chemo and radiation again. The surgeon who cut out my tumor left a gigantic scar that deformed my right breast. If I have to go through that again, I'm having a double mastectomy.

And the CAT scan I had on my lungs while I was hospitalized showed some sort of growth on my kidneys. My kidneys? Are you serious? And then I remembered this lump that had been on my lower back for the past couple of years. I had asked a doctor what she thought about it, and she thought nothing of it, so I let it go. But now I know that the lump is probably the growth that showed up on the CAT scan.

So all of these new conditions were found quite by accident but they require me to get another mammogram next week and a CAT scan on my kidneys next week too.

In addition to those visits, I'm supposed to return to my new GP (who started this whole thing rolling by admitting me – thank you, Dr. Gowda – I'm not being sarcastic – if not for his quick appraisal of my breathing problems, I don't know how quickly my condition would have deteriorated). As a result of all of those tests and doctor visits, I think I'll hold off on seeing the pulmonary doctor again until after I return from Virginia the beginning of July.

If you know me, you will know this is killing me. I can't write for long periods of time, I can't crochet for long periods of time, and I can't do anything that requires physical effort without becoming completely exhausted. I suffer from dizziness and lightheadedness, which, I've discovered may be a result of my persistent low potassium count. The infection still rages in my lungs and if I could just get rid of that one thing, I know I would feel so much better.

So yes, to save myself from even more exhaustion, I have cloned this blog, which appears in all of the following blogs:

Bankruptcy in Omaha

Too many of us have had to claim bankruptcy due to too many reasons. Foreclosures, job loss, death of a loved one, and so many more reasons contribute to our own personal monetary losses. Though we may hate to admit it, our only recourse is to claim bankruptcy.
My own personal situation involved providing for my three youngest children (my oldest was grown) with little and sometimes no child support, working at jobs that paid close to only minimum wage. Things got so bad I had to use credit cards to buy food and to get cash so that I could make minimum payments on other credit cards.
Did I abuse credit cards? No. I used those credit cars to pay for things like rent and clothing, shoes and gas, electricity and school supplies. But when the income kept dropping relative to expenses rising, I had no choice other than to claim bankruptcy.
Finding a reputable bankruptcy attorney is sometimes difficult, but if you live in the Omaha, Nebraska area and you have to claim bankruptcy, you can rely on the Skrupa Law Office to provide "Compassionate Guidance Through Your Troubled Times" (Skrupa Law Office's motto) and "quality legal representation at affordable prices" (from the Skrupa Law Office web site).
An Omaha Bankruptcy Attorney will provide you with a sense of relief. If you've tried everything else, and if you have paid the interest rate so many times your $1200 worth of necessities has now cost you more than $5000, you owe it to yourself to find a Nebraska Bankruptcy Lawyer who will provide for you a fresh start. Click any of the links in this blog to find one.

Eating a bowl of dip all by myself

Guest post written by Ashley Brown

I'm not proud of myself that I sat on my couch and ate a whole huge bowl of nacho cheese dip by myself. But one thing that I am proud about is that I was able to make it from scratch and I have to say that this dip was downright delicious.

I've made some dip before hat you just melted a block of fake cheese down with, but that just doesn't compare to what I made. I found the recipe online and when I was searching for a good one, I saw some info on debt settlement and after I looked through it a little bit I decided to use it to help out with my debt.

I was pretty astounded with how great this dip was. Too bad I was pretty ashamed that I ate all of it by myself or I would have shared it with someone, or at least let someone know how awesome the dip was. I think that my boyfriend would have really loved it. Although I'm sure he would have eaten most of it.

When Tracy's mother was diagnosed with cancer, somebody crocheted a hat for her. Tracy and her mother were touched by this simple, heartwarming gift and decided to pay it forward by crocheting hats for other cancer patients. They came up with their own website, CrochetForCancer.com where they ask readers to participate by donating crocheted hats. To help increase donations, they offer links for crocheted hat patterns.

As one who will be taking chemo pills until July of 2015 for breast cancer, I know firsthand how important head coverings are for cancer patients. I was bald for several months, but I was lucky – I didn't have to purchase wigs, hats, or scarves, because I was blessed with kind and generous friends and family members who bought me a wig, a couple of hats, and several scarves.

Wigs can be bothersome for cancer patients whose hair eventually grows back, because hair sticks inside the tiny webbing and causes the head to itch. Scarves, while beautiful, don't always stay on slippery bald heads, something I discovered once when I was driving with my window rolled down.

Hats tend to stay on the head and I wore hats most of the time – which worked well during the winter months – having had a thick head of hair for most of my life, I was surprised by how the cold affected my head when I lost all of my hair – and I genuinely appreciated those hats.

One thing cancer patients don't want is a hat filled with so many openings that their bald heads can be seen through the holes. If you decide to crochet hats for cancer patients, please make sure your weave is tight. Single crocheted hats work well, though a bulky yarn using a double crochet will work well in the winter months. When you crochet a hat, make sure it covers the head from the forehead to the nape of the neck.

Also, since summer is just around the corner, crocheting with 100% cotton or 100% silk will help the cancer patient be comfortable during the hot sticky summer months (100% silk yarn, however, is difficult to find; it is also very expensive).

Want to become involved in Crochet for Cancer's cause? According to Crochet for Cancer's FaceBook page, "We primarily donate items to centers in Georgia and Indiana but hope to one day spread our passion into each state." If you want to expand to your state, please contact Crochet for Cancer by sending an email to info@crochetforcancer.com.

Neglectful Husband

Guest post from: Kent Lara

I have been feeling very neglected by my husband lately, and I don’t know what to do about it. He works about 60 hours a week, and when he is home all he wants to do is watch directv. I try my best to be understanding of his crazy schedule, but it would be nice if he took some time to hang out with me. I know he is tired, but he needs to understand that relationships take work. Right now I haven’t even thought about leaving him, but I worry that if this goes on for much longer I will lose my patience and want out. I am scared to tell him how I’m feeling because I don’t want to stress him out, but I think I am going to have to be honest with him so we can fix this problem. I hope he understands that I need more from him and that he needs to get better at communicating with me. I know things won’t get better overnight, but I hope that he will at least try to change some of his habits.

UB-04 Software Relieves Doctors' Headaches!

What drives up medical costs? PAPERWORK! PAPERWORK! And more PAPERWORK!
If you've ever seen files in a doctor's office you will note that file cabinet after file cabinet, sometimes stacked two and three high, fill your doctor's office. These files are packed with information about all patients within the office, including not only their medical history, but every drug they've ever taken, every procedure they have ever had performed, every visit they've ever made, every everything. And every patient must go through a billing process.
Proper billing requires proper coding and remembering the different billing codes takes a long time. Complying with Medicare and insurance companies, along with filling out medical billing forms, is also time consuming – and tedious. We want our doctors to spend time with us, but when billing takes up almost as much time as a doctor's visit, what's a doctor to do?
Outsource! And what better way to outsource than to find somebody who is using UB-04 Software – a software company that provides forms for insurance billing.
The UB04 Claim form makes submitting claims easy in so many ways: Help boxes guide you through the learning process, templates eliminate repeat entries, advanced printer alignment calibrates each form with your printer, electronic submissions, the ability to send out multiple claims with a single click, and so much more.
But probably the best asset of the UB-04 is that it allows doctors to give much needed quality time to their patients while somebody else handles the billing.

6 Reasons to Get an Associate’s Degree

Guest blog post by Katie Brunson

Whether you’re a high-school student trying to decide on a college program or an adult who’s considering going back to college, there are lots of options available to you. While a four-year bachelor’s degree is a popular choice, there are also lots of great careers that can be obtained with a two-year associate’s degree. Here are some reasons you might want to consider earning an associate’s degree.

1. Length – Associate’s degrees only take two years to complete. If your child doesn’t enjoy being in school, this degree is a good alternative to a bachelor’s degree because it can be completed in half the time.
2. Programs – While many people assume that associate’s degrees are only for vocational trades, there are in fact a wide variety of degree programs available. Some of the most popular degrees include fields such as business, information technology, and medical assistance. In addition, associate’s degree programs focus directly on skills needed for a certain career instead of requiring students to take classes in other unrelated departments.
3. Experience – Associate’s degrees apply directly to real careers on the job market, such as medical technicians and computer specialists. As a result, many programs offer opportunities to gain professional experience as part of the degree. This allows students to apply what they learn in class directly to a professional environment. These opportunities can also lead to future job offers after graduation.
4. Cost – Since associate’s degrees take half as long to complete as bachelor’s degrees, they also cost much less. Just like traditional four-year programs, associate’s degree programs also offer financial aid to help students pay for college.
5. Options – Associate’s degrees are available at public and private universities and colleges, as well as community colleges, technical colleges, vocational schools, and online colleges. With so many educational options, you can be sure to help your child choose the option that’s right for him or her. Many associate’s degrees can even be transferred toward earning a bachelor’s degree later on.
6. Career Opportunities – Earning an associate’s degree will give students more career options and better salaries than they would have with a high school diploma alone. There are many great career options available with high salaries, benefits, paid vacations, etc. that can be obtained with an associate’s degree.

Katie Brunson owns and manages the site Associates Degrees. She is also a college counselor who works with students to help them decide which degrees and careers might be right for them.

5 Ways to Choose a Nurse Practitioner Program

Guest Post Written by Ally Wagner

Those of you looking for an advanced education as a nurse have no doubt run across a lot of information on nurse practitioner programs and degrees, many of which are offered online. Because each student, degree, and program are different, we thought now would be a good time to go over what to look for in a nurse practitioner program and have listed just five tips below.

1. The MSN – The Master of Science in Nursing is a huge part of becoming an NP. In some states, it is the degree required, while others can require a doctorate level degree in nursing. Even if choosing to go for a doctorate in nursing, an MSN can be a huge part in getting one. Take a look at the schools you are interested in to see if they offer the degree you are looking for.

2. Specialty – Because many nurse practitioners choose to go into a special field in medicine, they can also choose to get a degree in that area. If interested in an area of medicine such as family practice, psychiatry, pediatrics, or other, see if your school offers a degree that can help teach you it.

3. Rankings – Having a third party evaluate your nurse practitioner school can be a great way to see which fits your needs. Rankings can help you figure out which schools have the best graduation rates, job placements, and more. To get a detailed list of some of the best ranked schools out there, click here.

4. Degree type – If you are already a registered nurse or want to streamline the whole process, knowing which type of degree you want is crucial. For example, those who are already registered nurses but want to become nurse practitioners would be interested in a RN to MSN or DNP program. Those who are just starting out a college education may choose to get an accelerated program, such as a five year MSN.

5. Know before you go – Each of the 50 states, as well as the District of Columbia, have their own rules and regulations for what type of program nurse practitioners have to complete. For a list of each of the boards, click here to get more information on each. Be sure that the degree and program you plan on attending qualifies you to be a nurse practitioner in your state before enrolling.

Ally Wagner is studying to become a nurse and also contributes to Nurse Practitioner Programs which helps those studying to become nurse practitioners.

Monex Group for Your Business Needs

Before a business opens its doors, everything has to be in place. Inventory must be counted to ensure that supply meets demand, and employees must present themselves in a way that pleases their employer and their customers. Product placement and appearance must be displayed attractively and attention to even the minutest of details must be addressed. Successful businesses use every resource available so that on opening day, customers will be satisfied with the company's services and products.
Knowing how businesses will accept payment is important as well. Businesses that provide credit card processing services give their customers more options for paying. Customers don't always carry cash and they often prefer using credit or debit cards to pay for their products and services.
Finding a company that understands business needs can be difficult, but according to Monex Group, its "dedication to delivering the highest quality service and competitive prices" has given them "a powerful advantage which has fostered exponential growth."
Monex Group offers competitive pricing and 24/7 online support for their products, including a multilingual customer service department that includes more than 60 sales consultants and handles over 12 different languages all across Canada.
So if you live in Canada and are in need of POS Systems or ATM machines and you value a company that cares about its customers, visit Monex Group by clicking on the photo above.
